'THE SEEDING' directed by Barnaby Clay
(Tribeca Film Festival Official Selection)

ALEX MONTALDO
Actor Spotlight – The Seeding
Role: Corvus – Leader of the feral boys Director: Barnaby Clay
Release: 2024
In Barnaby Clay’s desert-set horror The Seeding, Alex Montaldo delivers a performance that is as primal as it is magnetic. As Corvus—the unchallenged leader of a pack of wild, sadistic boys—Montaldo commands the screen with a feral charisma that blends menace, charm, and unpredictable volatility.
Critics have drawn comparisons between Corvus and the iconic Sawyer children from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, citing Montaldo’s ability to channel a dangerous, tribal energy that feels both grounded and mythic. His portrayal transforms Corvus into more than just an antagonist; he’s a shamanic showman, a carnival barker of cruelty, and the unsettling moral center of the boys’ desert enclave.
Critical Praise
“Terrifying performances from the older members of the boys, especially Alex Montaldo... definitely based their characters on the cannibalistic Sawyer family children.” – What A Scream Podcast
“Montaldo and Michael Monsour are the best of the bunch... sinister and hostile.” – Joe’s Horror Reviews
“Alex Montaldo and Charlie Avink [deliver] good work” that helps make the children feel like “one dangerous mass.” – For It Is Man’s Number
Corvus is the leader of the feral boys, driving much of the film’s tension. – In Review Online
Behind the Scenes
Montaldo describes building Corvus from a mix of rock ‘n’ roll icons and primal archetypes: “He’s like a carnie, like a carnival barker... also a shaman.” Drawing from figures such as Iggy Pop and Mick Jagger, Montaldo infused the role with a physical, almost musical rhythm. Off-camera, he embraced a “pack leader” mindset, fostering a real sense of camaraderie and loyalty among the younger cast members—a dynamic
that translated into an authentic, unsettling group presence on screen.
Impact
With The Seeding, Alex Montaldo cements himself as an actor capable of creating deeply atmospheric characters—roles that not only serve the story but shape its tone. His Corvus is unforgettable: a predator, a performer, and a prophet in the sands.

How 'Golden Boy' Can Shed Light On Dealing With Parkinson's

Actors Alex Montaldo and Ron Shetler talk about co-starring in 'Golden Boy' and fighting Parkinson's

"Alex Montaldo is a feisty Joe Bonaparte, spunky and heedless of the wise advice his Italian immigrant father (Ron Shetler) gives him. Montaldo gives Joe an innocence that is both starry-eyed and street-wise". ****
                                                                                                                             Paulanne Simmons, Theater Life
"Alex Montaldo is small in stature and large in spunk. He is the little train that could. He just isn’t sure whom he wants to be. One moment Music is his protector to life and the war, the next; boxing is his life. He is a walking and talking oxymoron. THE GOLDEN BOY SHOULDERS MAN SIZE DRAMA AND WE ARE THE BETTER FOR IT. It is a masterful epic drama that will touch your heart".
                                                                                                                            Reginald Jackson, Club Social, NY
"Alex Montaldo has the boyish intensity needed to pull off this difficult role. He has to stand up to his beloved father, sweep a hard-boiled dame off her feet and prove to himself that he has what it takes to succeed".
                                                                                                                                             Eva Heinman, Hi!Drama
"Alex Montaldo has a strong, impassioned presence, and he is well matched with Kathleen Simmonds – the scenes between the two of them are the sharpest in the production".

'ORPHANS' by Lyle Kessler, directed by Aaron Latham, NYC

"Alex Montaldo’s performance is transcendent. He plays Philip perfectly, combining a childlike innocence with an irrepressible urge to experience the world beyond the narrow confines of his life with Treat. He persuades us to suspend our disbelief, to believe in him and to sympathize with his struggle to escape Treat’s violence and dominance".
                                                                                                                                     David Greene, RG Magazine

"... The cast works with impeccable synergy.
Montaldo leaps and cringes with great acrobatic grace...
Orphans is a much needed reminder that good theater needs only an intriguing script, skilled direction and a talented cast". ****
