Alex Montaldo is a versatile actor and musician based in New York City and Los Angeles. His passion for acting and music began in his teenage years, fueled by his love for make-believe and fascination with larger-than-life personas like David Bowie. In 2008, Alex was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Lee Strasberg Institute Conservatory Program in New York City, marking the beginning of his formal training. He graduated in 2010 and went on to build a diverse career across both the New York and Los Angeles theater scenes.
His theater credits include a standout performance as Joe Bonaparte in Clifford Odets’ Golden Boy, directed and co-produced by renowned journalist and screenwriter Aaron Latham. The production, which featured actors with Parkinson’s disease in key roles, was widely praised and garnered media attention from major outlets including CBS, NBC, CNN, and NPR. Following Golden Boy's success, Alex and Latham collaborated again on several projects, including the play Orphans by Lyle Kessler, where Alex took on the lead role of Phillip.
In film, Alex can currently be seen in The Seeding, a psychological folk horror directed by Barnaby Clay. The film premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and has since garnered a cult following after its commercial release in January 2024. Alex’s portrayal of the ringleader of a pack of feral kids showcases his skill for physically demanding and offbeat roles, cementing his reputation for captivating, intense performances.
On the television front, Alex's credits include the upcoming HBO comedy The Chair Company, CBS’ FBI and One Dollar, USA Network's Mr. Robot, and Amazon Prime's Modern Love. His work in these projects highlights his versatility and range as an actor across different genres and platforms.
Alex’s talent extends beyond the stage and screen. He’s also a musician, releasing music under the pseudonym LYNX, which can be found on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. His work as LYNX merges his love for music and performance, offering a unique extension of his artistic persona.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Alex is an avid sports enthusiast. He’s a regular on the Santa Monica beach volleyball courts, and he enjoys tennis, kayaking, and boxing. He’s also a staunch advocate for animal rights, further reflecting his commitment to causes close to his heart.
Whether through acting, music, or his advocacy work, Alex Montaldo continues to carve out a distinctive and dynamic career that blends creativity, passion, and a strong sense of purpose.
